Forlongs Logo

Forlongs Finance

As a partner with Forlongs Financing, we accept payment through the Forlongs card. Forlongs offers a simple way to pay your transmission repair costs off gradually, rather than all at once.

All you need to do is sign up for a Forlongs card. Once approved, you can use it to pay for your repair in manageable monthly instalments, and it stays available for any future servicing or repairs as well.

Q Mastercard Logo

Q Mastercard

With a Q Mastercard, you can enjoy a minimum of three months' interest-free, payment-free^ on all standard purchases, with no minimum spend.

It's a straightforward way to cover your repair now and pay it off over time, without interest charges eating into your budget in the short term.

WINZ / Work and Income

If you're on a low income or receiving a benefit, Work and Income (WINZ) may be able to help with the cost of essential car repairs through a recoverable assistance payment. This is a loan rather than a grant, so it does need to be paid back, but it can take the immediate pressure off if your car is essential for work, health, disability support, or getting around where public transport isn't a practical option.

Work and Income doesn't cover routine costs like fuel, registration, standard servicing, or your WOF, but essential repairs such as transmission faults may qualify. If you'd like to apply, you can contact Work and Income directly on 0800 559 009. If it's helpful for your application, we're happy to provide a written quote for your repair.

Assurant Logo

Protecta / Assurant

Protecta Insurance has rebranded to Assurant (the same company, trusted since 1986, now operating under its global parent brand). You may still see it referred to as either Protecta or Assurant, so we've included both names here.

Assurant provides mechanical breakdown insurance and vehicle protection plans that cover the cost of repairing sudden mechanical or electrical faults, including many transmission and gearbox issues. As an approved repairer, we can assess your vehicle, confirm what's covered, and submit your claim directly to Assurant, so you only need to worry about any policy excess.

Quest Insurance Logo

Quest Insurance

Quest Insurance offers mechanical breakdown insurance designed to protect you against the cost of unexpected mechanical and electrical failures, including transmission problems. Cover is available for vehicles up to 300,000km, with claim limits that depend on your vehicle's age and mileage.

If you have a Quest Insurance policy, we'll carry out a diagnostic assessment, then contact Quest's claims team directly to confirm cover and get your repair approved before we start work. Quest policies typically exclude routine servicing, general wear and tear, and pre-existing faults, so it's worth checking your policy documents if you're unsure whether your specific issue is covered.

Janssen Logo

Janssen

Janssen Insurance offers a range of mechanical breakdown cover, including EliteCover and EliteCoverPlus for petrol and diesel vehicles, and EcoCover for hybrid and electric vehicles. These policies can cover a wide range of components, often including specialised parts like sensors and suspension systems, and the cover typically transfers free of charge if you sell your car.

If you hold a Janssen policy, let us know when you book your vehicle in. We can talk you through what's covered, confirm the details with Janssen, and take care of the claim so your transmission repair is sorted with as little hassle as possible.
