Marshall Automotive and Marshall Transmissions share a workshop at 78 Greenwood Street, Frankton, giving Hamilton and Waikato drivers a genuine one-stop shop for vehicle repair and maintenance. Marshall Automotive handles general mechanical servicing, WOF inspections and diagnostics, while Marshall Transmissions is Hamilton and Te Awamutu's specialist in gearboxes, automatic transmissions and clutch repairs. Between the two teams, most jobs can be diagnosed, quoted and completed in a single visit, without the runaround of multiple workshops.
Our History
Marshall Transmissions has been part of the Waikato motoring scene for more than 40 years, building a reputation as the region's trusted gearbox, transmission and clutch specialist. In 2015, ownership passed to Dustin Phillips, a car enthusiast who brought experience gained running both mainstream and prestige dealerships. Under his leadership, the business has continued to grow, with an updated structure and modern tools supporting the same commitment to quality that the workshop was built on.
Marshall Automotive has grown alongside this, extending the same standards of transparent pricing and thorough workmanship into general mechanical servicing. Together, the two businesses now operate as a combined workshop, offering the breadth of a full-service garage with the depth of specialist transmission expertise.

Our technicians don't work on a "change a part and hope" basis. Both teams use proper diagnostic equipment and resources to identify the actual problem before starting work, so repairs are accurate the first time. We've invested in the tools our mechanics and transmission specialists need to problem-solve efficiently and get you back on the road safely and quickly.
Ongoing training is a priority across both teams. We attend regular seminars and undertake annual training to keep pace with new vehicles, parts and technology, whether that's the latest transmission systems or general vehicle diagnostics.
